Our
correspondents
Since the 15th
of July 2001 ccs is a
fully-fledged member
of the International Assistance Group und
provides assistance
globally through 38 Operations Centers in key locations. In addition
to our own offices, the International Assistance Group has a
firmly-established global network of agents and medical service
providers as well as cooperations with 3 further international
networks of high quality, namely Coris, Mapfre and Assist Card. Due
to the very diverse nature of our clients, the geographical profile
of our support network is genuinely global, covering the more
popular as well as the most remote and challenging locations.
These include growing
tourist destinations like China, Cuba, Laos, Cambodia and even
Antarctica and the Falklands, where we have handled a number of
assistance cases. The International Assistance Group has over 30
employees dedicated to monitoring the coverage and performance of
our agent network. We regularly audit the network to ensure that
every country is covered by an agent that we can rely on if the
necessity arises. Each company monitors the performance of the
International Assistance Group's agents. This provides invaluable
feedback, even in the case of frequently used agents.
Our
Worldwide Database
Travellers are now
more aware of the importance of being well prepared and having an
understanding of the quality of local facilities and how easily an
evacuation can be arranged. This reinforces the essential role of
the assistance provider to be well informed and to have a tried and
tested its network of vetted providers.
The International
Assistance Group has always recognized that the assistance
organizations which provide the most professional and "targeted"
assistance are those which have access to the most up-to-date and
relevant information about the quality of medical service providers
world-wide. This information must be easily accessible, sorted
according to quality and must be an integrated part of assistance
case handling.
The International
Assistance Group database is a web-based system available to all
International Assistance Group members. It contains detailed
information about the Group's comprehensive world-wide network
consisting of hospitals, doctors, dentists and pharmacies, and a
large number of different providers and suppliers on whom we rely.
Major hospitals are
evaluated and their standards described and classified according to
quality. Should a medical facility not meet the Western European
standards, be it for reasons of hygiene, medical standards, or any
other, a warning is displayed either concerning the facility or the
general standards of hospitals in that area.
